The ZebOS-XP platform infrastructure was created from the ground up to address these high demands of scale and performance in mission critical mobile backhaul, carrier transport, and data center networks.
With its roots in the original ZebOS network operating system, ZebOS-XP 1.0 continues to be based on split control plane design and supports all hardware and software supported in existing ZebOS software release versions 7.10.x or earlier.
In performance and scalability tests which compared the ZebOS-XP control plane platform with the existing ZebOS control plane platform, the ZebOS-XP has 2 to 4+ times the scaling advantage when subjected to rapid increases in IP sessions and total bandwidth requirements. When compared to current shipping versions of ZebOS, ZebOS-XP has up to 8X ECMP route scaling for Layer 3 unicast routing protocols, and significantly improved convergence time for Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 unicast routing.
