Oct. 16--Q Who and what is going to be at the festival this year? Anything new and exciting?

This is our tenth year and we have a lot of special guests including C. Thomas Howell (yes, Ponyboy from "The Outsiders," etc.) and cast members from "Dawn of the Dead," Vernon Wells from "Road Warrior" and "Commando" movies, Eugene Clark from "Land of the Dead," etc. Check out www.eeriehorrorfilmfestival.com for the entire lineup.

Q What is your favorite horror/gore/scary film?

Great question. I get asked often what my favorite horror movies are, but usually I ask people "from which decade?" I love the old B & W Universal Monster movies from the 1930s and 1940s. But overall, my favorites would be: (1) "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974) -- Tense and disturbing and actually, sort of funny in a sick way ... love it. (2) "The Exorcist" (1973) -- Still scares me. (3) "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) -- the granddaddy of all recent zombie films and still the best -- even with its ultralow budget, which I think helps it. (4) "Rosemary's Baby" (1968).

Q Are there any films produced locally included in this year's event?

We do have a locally produced movie at this year's fest called "Scream Park" and it was filmed in Conneaut Lake Park and stars Doug Bradley from "Hellraiser" (who is also appearing at our event this weekend)!
