The race for the Oscars is becoming clearer by
the day.
The Writers Guild of America on Friday nominated a string of
critical successes for their annual screenwriting awards, including
hot favourites like Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln, together with
quirkier films like Silver Linings Playbook, The Master and The Perks
of Being a Wallflower.
Other films among the 10 nominees were Flight, Looper, Life of Pi,
Argo and Moonrise Kingdom.
The nominations followed by a day the announcement of the
Producers Guild of America shortlist which included Argo, Beasts of
the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi,
Lincoln, Moonrise Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook, Skyfall, and Zero
Dark Thirty.
The Writers Guild Awards will be handed out on February 17, a week
before the Oscars.
