SBA LA Extends Small Business Champion Nominations

SBA Small Business Champion Nominations

The U.S. Small Business Administration - Los Angeles District Office in collaboration with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for business awards for local small business owners and business champions. This includes the 2013 Small Business Person of the Year Award for National Small Business Week.

"The Los Angeles SBA District Office looks forward to honoring local entrepreneurs and business champions in various categories who are contributing to our community and economy," said Victor Parker, the Los Angeles SBA district director.

Local SBA Awards given in celebration of National Small Business Week include the following awards:

Small Business Person of the Year (online or hardcopy application accepted)
8(a) Graduate of the Year (online or hardcopy application accepted)
Small Business Exporter of the Year (online or hardcopy application accepted)
Environmental "Green" Conservator of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)
Innovation Through Technology Business of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)
Family-Owned Business of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)
Financial Services Champion of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)
Minority Small Business Champion of the Year(hardcopy application accepted)
Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)
Women in Business Champion of the Year (hardcopy application accepted)

In addition, a new online portal has been launched by the SBA to accept nominations for its 2013 National Small Business Week Awards for the Small Business Person of the Year, 8(a) Graduate of the Year and Small Business Exporter of the Year awards.

Submit nominations to http://nationalsmallbusinessweek.sba.gov/.

The Los Angeles SBA District Office serves Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Trade associations, chambers of commerce and business organizations in this tri-county area are encouraged to submit nominations. A business owner and/or business champion may also nominate themselves or other candidates.

The hardcopy nomination form for all Small Business Week awards may be downloaded from the Los Angeles SBA District Office website at: http://www.sba.gov/about-offices-content/2/3099/resources/296321 and submitted to the Los Angeles SBA District Office.
