Eight wounded military service members at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center will make a trip to Washington, D.C., for Monday's presidential inauguration ceremony, according to a news release.

The service members -- seven soldiers and one sailor -- and two of their family members were invited by U.S. Rep. John Barrow, who has teamed up with the Fisher House Foundation and the Yellow Ribbon Fund to provide free airfare and hotel accommodations while in Washington, the release said.

"We owe so much to our service men and women, and I'm honored to have these warriors join us in our nation's capital for this historic ceremony," Barrow said.

The Fisher House, known for its network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers, provided airfare through itsHero Miles Program, while the Yellow Ribbon Fund donated the hotel accommodations. Each year, Barrow donates the miles he accrues through congressional travel to the Hero Miles Program, the release said.

The military personnel and family members invited to attend the inauguration are: Staff Sgt. Satoria Ragin and his wife, Erica Ragin; Pfc. Daniel Ord and his mother, Maribeth Ord-Dykes; Spc. Jesse Wollek; Pfc. Miguel Perez; Pvt. Mardondre Robertson; Spc. Canger Jeancaidor; Capt. Scotty Boler; and Petty Officer 1st Class Whitney Bellow.
