SPRINGDALE, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR -- (Marketwire) -- 01/10/13 -- BMO Bank of Montreal is taking all the necessary steps to ensure continued banking services to its customers in the wake of the fire that destroyed its branch and other commercial buildings earlier today in Springdale.
BMO will be installing by early next week a Cash ATM at a location to be confirmed, enabling customers to access their money, either through a withdrawal or cash advance. Also, BMO will be assuming all service charges involved for customers who use the ATMs of the Scotiabank branch in Springdale until BMO is able to install new ATMs and ensure branch service at an alternate location in Sprindgale. Customers need only keep receipts of the charges incurred and present them at a temporary BMO location that will be implemented as quickly as possible.
"I wish to assure our customers that all their personal information is saved electronically and that our banking records have not been compromised," said Jim Fallon, Vice-President for Newfoundland and Labrador at BMO Bank of Montreal. Our safe and safety deposit boxes are built to withstand fire and therefore should not be impacted," added Mr. Fallon, inviting customers to take full advantage of the leading edge online banking or telephone banking services offered by BMO. Customers need only go to www.bmo.com or call 1-877-CALL-BMO.
BMO Bank of Montreal will keep its customers informed of its on-going initiatives to ensure continued delivery of banking services in the wake of this fire.
