The One Direction American invasion continues. The U.K. boy band took home three MTV Video Music Awards last night at the Staples Center in L.A. Recognizing that their fans' support helped them earn the awards, they thanked them lovingly during each speech, and even on Twitter.
Louis Tomlinson: "Wow can't believe we won three awards ! I said it on stage but i'll say it again! The awards are because of you guys , thank you everyone!"
Harry Styles: "We owe you everything. Thank you so much for this. Three VMAs!! YEAH .xx"
Niall Horan: "Guys what the hell! You are incredible, 3 vmas ! We love u all soo much! All 3 of them are for u! Thank you!"
Fans were lined up at the MTV preshow to get a glipmse of the boys, and were also allowed on stage as Harry, Niall, Zayn, Liam and Louis sang "One Thing" at the VMAs.
One Direction won their Moonmans for: Best New Artist; Best Pop Video: "What Makes You Beautiful"; and Most Share-Worthy Video: "What Makes You Beautiful."
