Canal 22 Internacional, the arts and entertainment channel, will bring viewers along on an exploration of the Mexican state of Hidalgo, unveiling archaeological treasures, natural wonders, colonial architecture and the traditional cuisine of the magical state and its people.
The focus on "Hildalgo: Territorio de Pueblos Mágicitos" will carry across multiple series for the entire month of September.
The journey begins with "Mi pueblo, mi lengua" airing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 p.m. PT. Each episode will tour the cobbled and colorful streets of Hidalgo's villages, imparting the state's rich history, traditions, and cuisine while demonstrating the warmth of its people. Among the communities that will be visit are: Real del Monte, Zempoala Huasca de Ocampo, Tula de Allende, the Chico Mineral and Acatlán.
Airing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT, Revelando la historia will introduce viewers to the historical, scientific, technological, economic and social transformations that have spread to different regions of Hidalgo as told by renowned personalities from the political, economic and social sectors of the state.
Also airing on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 1 a.m. ET/10 p.m. PT is El Aficionado. This program takes audiences along to experience the wide variety of extreme sports that can be practiced in each of the towns of Hidalgo. Viewers, through Canal 22 Internacional's incredible coverage, will learn about parkour, camping, hiking, indoor rowing and capoeira, just some of the extreme sports popular in the state.
Hidalgo sin fronteras follows at 1:30 a.m. ET/10:30 p.m. PT, with subsequent episodes airing on Tuesday and Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. PT. Audiences will be amazed by the vast Hispanic and colonial traditions kept alive through the popular festivals celebrated throughout Hidalgo. Each episode takes a close look at the preparations of various celebrations, including the music, food and distinct traditions of each festival and how they add to the rich culture of Hildalgo.
On Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT beginning Sept. 9, Música y Escena: Simplemente una canción focuses on the music and musical artists of Hildalgo. Special guests include Paté de Fuá, Grupo Saoco, Javier Gándara, Beny Ibarra, Los Concord, Kinky, Panteón Rococo, Zoé and Alejandro Franco. These artists will share their music and Hildago's musical history in each weekly episode.
With the September airing of these special programs dedicated to the state of Hidalgo, Canal 22 Internacional strengthens the ties between Mexicans and Latin Americans living in the United States with their home communities, culture and traditions.
