Flags were prevalent and services were scheduled throughout the Myrtle Beach, S.C., area Tuesday in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.
Myrtle Beach plans to unveil its memorial, which includes a beam from the World Trade Center, at 7 p.m. at its site at Broadway at the Beach.

--10 a.m. -- Motorcade assembles in parking lot, Old Georgetown Road and N.C. 904, in Sunset Beach, N.C., driving to Brunswick Community College in Supply, N.C.
--11 a.m. -- Fire Department of New York-Carolinas Retirees Association 11th anniversary memorial service, in Victory Garden at Brunswick Community College, at Old Ocean Highway at College Road
11th annual Local Heroes' Benefit
Benefiting -- Horry and Georgetown counties' Fire and Life Safety Expo, the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office "Shop with Santa" program, and Rolling Thunder S.C. Chapter 3
When -- 10 a.m. to closing Tuesday , with remembrance ceremony at 1 p.m.
