City of Hialeah Honors Hispanic Car Dealer Gus Machado

This past June, the City of Hialeah, in Florida, unveiled "Gus Machado Way" in honor of Gus Machado, a business owner on the 2012 HispanicBusiness 500.

Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez and city council members gave this honor to Machado in recognition of his service and contributions to the city.

Gus Machado Enterprises came in at No. 70 on the 2012 HispanicBusiness 500. In 2011, Machado generated $95.32 million. His company, which started in 1984, has 177 employees.

Gus Machado Way is located at West 12th Avenue and 47th Street.

In 2003 Gus Machado Ford achieved Ford Motor Company's highest honor - being awarded the President's Award. In 2006, 2010, 2011, Ford Motor Company recognized Machado for his philanthropy.

Due to his multiple charitable contributions, in 2008 he created the Gus Machado Family Foundation with the purpose of contributing to multiple charitable organizations and establishing a legacy to leave behind for his family and community, according to a press release.
