The 34th Annual Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council Business Conference & Opportunity Fair will be Wednesday and Thursday at the Downtown Doubletree Hotel and Tulsa Convention Center.
The event -- "Minority Businesses and Corporate America: Connecting For Business Success" -- will bring together corporate, government and minority business representatives.
Organizers describe the event as the largest procurement show in the state devoted exclusively to promoting partnerships and business opportunities between major corporations and minority businesses. ConocoPhillips is the title sponsor.
Minority businesses will take center stage and showcase their products or services to the largest major corporations in the state. Major corporations will be able to identify and explore business opportunities with a large and diverse group of minority suppliers.
Registration takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a 6-8 p.m. reception at the ONEOK Field Conference Center. The event continues Thursday, with registration beginning at 7 a.m., and seminars and workshops starting at 9 a.m.
Thursday morning seminars and workshops include the "Did You Know?" business forum, "Fundamentals of a New Supplier Diversity Process" and "Government: Opportunities for Minority Suppliers."
Clifton L. Taulbert, president of Freemount Corp., will be the keynote luncheon speaker. He is the author of "Eight Habits of the Heart" and "Eight Habits of the Heart for Educators."
The OMSDC is a privately funded, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization established in 1976.
