FARNBOROUGH, England, July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TECT announced today that the newest member of its family of businesses, TECT Aerospace Components, located in Guanajuato, Mexico, has begun manufacturing operations in support of sister business TECT Aerospace.
TECT Aerospace Components' new facility is producing three- and four-axis machined and fabricated components for TECT Aerospace that get incorporated into larger work statements and complex assemblies for several end customers in the Seattle, Wichita and Ft. Worth areas. Once the initial startup phase is completed, TECT Aerospace Components plans to begin servicing external customers.
"The facility startup has gone smoothly," said Ray May, director general of TECT Aerospace Components. "We have installed our equipment, hired and trained our initial workforce, and begun producing first article pieces on most of our beginning statement of work." Mr. May went on to say that "the quality and work ethic of the workforce, and support provided by local and regional governments has been instrumental in the smooth startup of operations."
This facility is the first of several international manufacturing opportunities under consideration by TECT. Kenneth Glass, chairman of UCA Holdings, Inc., the parent company of the TECT family of businesses, said that he "expects to finalize and formally announce the launch of the next TECT location outside of the United Stated by year end."
TECT expects to employ 50 full-time workers in Guanajuato when the facility meets its initial ramp-up objectives.
