DRAPER, UT and KAYSVILLE, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 06/21/12 -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems Inc. (OTCQB: FLXT) (OTCBB: FLXT), a leading supplier of thin film sensing technology that can be used in many industries, including automotive, medical, industrial controls, and consumer products, today announced a partnership with Monnit Corporation (www.monnit.com), a cutting edge supplier of wireless sensing technologies.
The companies have jointly developed a versatile "plug and play" Wireless Flex Sensor that can measure mechanical movement, air flow, water flow, or even vibration. The device transmits this data wirelessly between Monnit's local sensor network gateways and the iMonnit online data monitoring system, which records sensor information and sends notifications via text or email if user-defined conditions are met or exceeded.
"Monnit's wireless technology gives our Bend Sensor a great deal of flexibility by expanding the range of commercial and industrial applications we can pursue," said Flexpoint President Clark Mower. "By using wireless data transmission, we eliminate the cumbersome wiring that often poses challenges to our custom work for clients. Monnit's technology can thus help expedite development of projects and enable us to pursue applications that traditional wiring would have made difficult or impossible."
The device can be readily adapted for everything from door hinges to air ducts for motion and flow measurements. The units can be purchased directly through Monnit sales or online at the Monnit web store.
The new Wireless Flex Sensor complements Monnit's existing line of wireless sensors, which are designed to detect and monitor functions that are critical to business or personal life, including temperature, water, humidity, light, motion, movement, distress and much more. Monnit is an established firm with a host of major clients, including Walgreen's, 3M, HP and Accenture among many others.
All of Monnit's wireless sensors include free basic iMonnit online sensor monitoring with SMS text and email alerting.
"We are excited about the opportunity to work with Flexpoint. They make a great quality product that fits perfectly with our existing line of wireless sensors," said Brad Walters, Founder and CEO of Monnit Corporation. "There are countless ways in which this new sensor can be used and monitored online."
