WASHINGTON, June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- GE (NYSE: GE) today announced that its employee resource group, the GE Hispanic Forum, will be hosting a two-day Executive Leadership Symposium with the theme, "Connecting for Growth: Lead. Learn. Build." in Washington, D.C., June 14-15, focused on developing business leaders and building professional and personal networks. The event will gather more than 150 Hispanic business executives from the U.S. and Latin America who will share their perspectives about leadership, as well as offer insights into global trends and mid-market financing strategies across a range of industries including energy, healthcare and technology.

Featured speakers include GE CEO Jeff Immelt, U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis, Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno, and Synergy Group President German Efromovich, who will discuss the important role Hispanic leaders are playing in the growth of the global economy.

The GE Hispanic Forum was established in 1996 as an employee-based resource group created to attract, retain and develop Hispanic talent within GE. Every month, the Forum's 3,500 members sponsor local events with Hispanic groups and the community. Last year, the Hispanic Forum officially launched the "GE Hispanic Forum Scholarship Fund," which presented its first $20,000 check to Thomas Alva Edison High School for two science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) scholarships.

In 2011, GE's Hispanic Forum was rated a "best in class" employee resource group model from the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Latino Employee Resource Group Corporate Challenge.
