The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies has announced the formation and appointment of members to its new advisory board. The new board has been created to provide thought leadership and insights representative of the broad Hispanic marketing spectrum and help AHAA's board of directors set its long-term strategy.
This forms part of AHAA's recent shift in mission to expand its focus and advocacy beyond Hispanic advertising to include all marketing disciplines, media and research entities working in the Hispanic market.
Members are comprised of Hispanic marketing leaders from such diverse industry backgrounds as media, production, consulting, music, direct response, promotions, research, public relations and advertising.
The newly appointed AHAA Advisory Board members are:
Mark Addicks, SVP, CMO, General Mills
As Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Mark Addicks has oversight responsibilities for the company's global brand-building strategy, including its advertising, promotions, public relations, design, packaging, online, licensing and multicultural initiatives.
Eduardo Caballero, Founder & CEO, Caballero Radio & Television
This Hispanic broadcasting pioneer owns and operates, Caballero TV & Cables Sales, which is the nation's first, only and largest unwired network of independent stations aimed at the Hispanic market. He was also the first Hispanic inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame.
Clara Carneiro, VP Multicultural, Arbitron
Clara Carneiro is VP of Marketing at Arbitron Inc. She is responsible for developing programs to highlight the value of radio for advertisers and agencies in partnership with the radio community. This role expands upon the previous responsibilities for Multicultural Business Affairs where the focus has been to develop and execute strategies that cultivate and strengthen Arbitron's multicultural business and community relationships.
Sabrina Crow, Senior VP and Managing Director, Client Services, Nielsen Ms. Sabrina Crow is the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Client Services of the Nielsen Company, in addition to serving as the Global Client Business Partner for Univision. Previously, she led local television business for Nielsen. Prior to her joining the company, she held a variety of executive positions in the media and publishing industries at companies including The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and Freedom Communications. Most notably, she is the former owner of Latin Trade, a media conglomerate company which published magazines, developed online content, and housed a research and event division. Ms. Crow has been honored for her media leadership by Women in International Trade and South Florida Media and is the past president of the International Advertising Association, Miami.
Gilbert Davila, President & CEO, Davila Multicultural Insights
Gilbert Davila is the President and CEO of Davila Multicultural Insights (DMI), which he founded in 2010 after having spent twenty five years working as a marketing executive and multicultural market expert with Blue Chip companies including: Procter & Gamble, Coca Cola USA, Sears, Roebuck and Company, and The Walt Disney Company, where he served as the Vice President of Multicultural Marketing and Global Diversity. Today, as the head of DMI, Davila and his team provide consulting services and business strategies to corporations interested in reaching the ever-growing multicultural marketplace.
