CHATSWORTH, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/12/12 -- Venstar®, a leading thermostat and energy management systems supplier, today introduced its line of battery and/or system-powered thermostats, Models T0130, T0140, T1035 and T1045, which offer extremely simple operating features and the versatility of running either on two AA Alkaline batteries or via the HVAC's electrical system. These non-programmable (T0130 and T0140) and 5+2 Day Programmable (T1035/T1045) thermostats are very easy to operate and feature a large, easy-to-read, backlit digital display indicating both Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures. The bi-color LED indicator, available when system is powered, glows green or red to indicate whether the thermostat is in heating or cooling mode, respectively.
Compatible with two-, three-, four-, or five-wire systems, Venstar's T0130 and T1035 battery and/or system-powered thermostats also feature one-stage heating and one-stage cooling for use with gas/electric, heat pump, millivolt, electric heating, and hydronic systems, as well as RC and RH terminals for dual transformer systems.
Venstar's T0140 and T1045 battery and/or system-powered thermostats feature two-stage heating and one-stage cooling for use specifically with heat pumps. These thermostats also come equipped with an Auxiliary Heat switch, which features:
•Emergency Setting: If the first-stage compressor should fail, setting the switch in the Emergency position allows the thermostat to automatically bypass first-stage heat and use the strip heaters. •Lockout Setting: Allows the homeowner to choose not to run second-stage strip heat, helping reduce usage costs as it is more expensive to run both strip heaters and a compressor. •Normal Setting: Allows the homeowner to use first-stage and second-stage heating normally.
The programmable thermostats (T1035 and T1045) also include a service filter indicator and adjustable compressor protection.
"Our battery and/or system-powered thermostats are popular not just for their back-up power option but also because they are so simple and easy to read and operate," said Steve Dushane, president and CEO of Venstar Inc. "Customers appreciate the easy-to-access front battery compartment and the sleek styling and white color, which blend beautifully into any décor. As well, the bi-color LED for heating and cooling is one of our customers' favorite features of this line."
