Roseanne Barr wasn't kidding back in August when she told Jay Leno she was running for president.
The comedian, 59, rose to fame with her hit TV show "Roseanne," used her Twitter account @TheRealRoseanne: to tell the world she will be representing the Green Party.
"I am running for Green Party nominee for POTUS. I am an official candidate. I am4 the Greening of America&the world. Green=peace/justice."
"I am pro the Middle and Working Classes, who are being strangled 2 death by dem&repub. Green Party is 4 small business&social safety net."
"I will run until the convention in July in Baltimore-I fully expect Jill Stein 2b the nominee& I will support her, but til then-I'll serve"
She replied to many of her followers' questions and comments as well:
"@sunnyyrach even if it isnt, vote for the Green Party Candidate-it sends a message to Obama!"
"@jadedamber i will use the powers of the presidency to make sure that every american has a job and free health care."
Barr filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission Jan. 27, according to ABCNews.com..
"We are very happy that Roseanne has put her hat into the ring and we welcome her to the competition for the Green Party's nomination," party national media coordinator Scott McLarty said, reports ABC.
