Entertainer and activist George Lopez has signed a multiyear marketing partnership with Mango Financial Inc., based in Austin, Texas, to promote Mango's payment and savings products.
"We are very excited to have George Lopez partner with us on Mango as we continue to grow the awareness for our brand, products and services," Mango cofounder and President Bertrand Sosa said. "George will bring an additional level of awareness to the financial issues our customers face and the solutions available for them at Mango."
Lopez, perhaps best known as an entertainer and for his self-produced sitcom "George Lopez," has also focused his energies on battling poverty and health issues. He is the founder of the Lopez Foundation, which seeks to impact underprivileged families and their children through increased awareness of health issues and by supporting education initiatives. He has spent many years as a spokesman for the National Kidney Foundation, in 2004 was named Artist of the Year and Humanitarian by Harvard University, and was named one of Time magazine's 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America.
"This is not only an opportunity to promote a great company with great products, but also a chance to make a difference in people's lives," Lopez said.
Beyond integrating Lopez into a series of brand marketing campaigns, Mango plans on collaborating with the entertainer on ways to promote financial education and new product initiatives focused on interactive media channels.
Mango offers customers financial services ranging from prepaid cards to savings and investment products.
