Vanessa Hudgens is really into method acting.
To prepare for indie film, "Gimme Shelter" with actor Brendan Fraser, Hudgens stayed at a shelter for two weeks.
"I actually went and stayed in a shelter for two weeks before I started filming," Vanessa Hudgens tells Rachael Ray on her show, airing today, according to E! Online. "I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids, so I think that it's really interesting because you find so much more about yourself."
The 23-year-old actress is also donning a shorter hair cut, which she herself cut during filming.

"Gimme Shelter" also starring Rosario Dawson was written and directed by Ron Krauss.
Hudgens is set to star in "Spring Breakers" with Selena Gomez, James Franco and Emma Roberts.
