Madonna has gone through many incarnations over the years of her career, but Madonna, the diplomat?

Not quite, but she has become the catalyst for her Israeli fans to urge Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to strike Iran until after her planned May 29 concert in Tel Aviv, according to several reports.

The group has named itself "Bibi don't start a war with Iran until after Madonna's show on May 29," according to the published reports.

Listen to Madonna sing "The Beat Goes On" in Tel Aviv in September 2009.

The Daily News said the group formed because they feared foreign artists would likely cancel shows if there was a war in progress.

Such fears are not unfounded. A number of artists have canceled gigs in Israel in times of political crises or wars, the Contra Costa (Calif.) Times reported.

In 2001, it was the Red hot Chili Peppers. In 2006, it was Depeche Mode. Last year, the Pixies canceled their show after the Israelis raided a Gaza-bound aid flotilla. Just last week, Cat Power canceled a weekend show in Tel Aviv, tweeting Feb. 3 that she felt "much confusion," the Daily News reported, and that she felt "sick in her spirit" and could not play for her Israeli fans.

There has been no reaction from Madonna's camp and no word if Netanyahu has been given the plea.
