Diversity in Corporate Boardrooms -->
BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/11/12 -- A national conversation on gender diversity in US corporate boardrooms will be held on December 12, 2012, when 2020 Women on Boards hosts luncheon events nationwide. The events will promote the work being done to increase the number of women on US company boards to 20 percent or greater. There will be a national tweet-a-thon (#1212WOB) on Dec. 12 beginning at noon starting on the east coast and spreading across the country during the day. 2020 Women on Boards will also launch its new video "The Clattering of Business As Usual."
"Companies with a strong proportion of women on their Board of Directors perform better -- it's just that simple. Consistently, research finds that companies with women on their boards have higher returns on equity, lower relative debt levels, higher stock valuation and higher average growth," said Stephanie Sonnabend, Chair and Co-Founder of 2020 Women on Boards.
12/12/12 events are being held in Boca Raton, FL, Boise, ID, Boston, MA, Boulder, CO, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Dallas, TX, Del Ray Beach, FL, Denver, CO, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Huntsville, AL, Los Angeles, CA, Louisville, KY, MacLean, VA, Miami, FL, Milan, Italy, New Orleans, LA, New York, NY, Phoenix, AZ, San Diego, CO, San Francisco, CA, Tampa, FL, and Washington, DC.
