Latino Artists Approaching --> The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) Fund for the Arts grant deadline is Dec. 13.
Launched in 2005 with major support from the Ford Foundation, the NALAC Fund for the Arts provides a variety of grants to assist U.S.-based Latino artists and arts organizations in the development, creation, presentation and sustainability of artistic excellence, as well as the opportunity to participate in activities that contribute to professional and organizational growth.
The national grant program is open to working artists, ensembles and small to mid-sized Latino arts organizations that demonstrate artistic excellence in pursuit of social justice through the arts.
To date, the NFA has awarded over one million dollars to a diverse range of artists and organizations representing every discipline and region of the country. Applying to the NFA is a benefit of NALAC Membership
Winners will be notified between February and March 2013.
Here is a break down of the NALAC NFA grants for Latino Arts Organizations:
Project Grant $1,000 to $10,000: The NFA Project Grant supports project-related costs that allow for the creation and presentation of artistic works; professional development; and organizational capacity building initiatives.
General Operating Support $1,000 to $10,000: The NFA Organization General Operating Support Grant provides funding to support general operating expenses for nonprofit arts organizations.
Festival $1,000 to $10,000: The NFA Organization Festival Grant supports festival related costs assisting organizations in providing quality arts programming to communities.
Here is a break down of the NALAC NFA grants for Latino Artists and Ensembles:
Project Grant $1,000 to $10,000: The NFA Project Grant supports project related costs that allow the artist(s) increased time to research and develop ideas or new works.
Fellowship $1,000 to $5,000: The NFA Fellowship supports artists whose work demonstrates excellence and the potential for impacting the Latino arts field. The Fellowship is designed to recognize excellence in an artist's body of work and nurture the creative development of an artist.
Master Artist Grant $10,000 to $20,000: The NFA Master Artist Grant is a grant program created to recognize established Latino artists for their cultural contributions and significance in their communities and also to provide support that enables the Master Artist to serve as a mentor to another artist in their professional and artistic development.
