Social media users accessed Social Graph Studios' social application Status Shuffle a half a billion times to set their Facebook status over the last five years, according to a news release. Two other notable milestones have been recently met: Status Shuffle has received 3 million Facebook Likes and users have shuffled through statuses 50 billion times.
"Hitting these milestones is proof that people love using Status Shuffle to help find the perfect status," said Oz Solomon, Social Graph Studios' founder and CEO. "People use Status Shuffle because it's fun to browse through our database of community-moderated statuses. Status Shuffle has millions of funny, poignant and relevant statuses for people to choose from."
In celebration, Social Graph Studios updated Status Shuffle iPhone to version 2.0. The new version of Status Shuffle iPhone has a refined new style, allows users to swipe or tap to get the next status, streamlined navigation and support for iPhone 5 and retina displays.
Status Shuffle helps users find a status message to post on their Facebook Timeline. The application selects from 3.2 million crowd-sourced statuses using a proprietary shuffling algorithm that recommends statuses that users are more likely to care about.
Status Shuffle users automatically moderate the content simply by using Status Shuffle. People have set their status, voted on statuses, shared statuses or saved a status as a favorite more than 1.6 billion times using Status Shuffle. The Status Shuffle engine uses these signals and user demographic information to determine which statuses are strong and more relevant.
Status Shuffle on Facebook has over 2.7 million unique monthly active users while Status Shuffle iPhone has been installed by more than 1 million unique people.
"The social and mobile experiences are converging. We are proud to be at the front of this disruptive change. Status Shuffle has been around for 5 years because it's so easy and fun to use. We understand how to make great apps," said Solomon.
The Status Shuffle iPhone application is available at the iTunes store or as a Facebook app. Status Shuffle Lite (free version) is available here.
