ANDOVER, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/18/12 -- Casa Systems, a worldwide leader in next generation cable edge technology, announced today the appointment of veteran telecommunications and cable executive Abraham Pucheril to the position of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
"We are excited that Abraham has decided to join us at this critical juncture in our company's history. Abraham is a recognized leader in the cable and telecommunications industries, with a unique ability to interact across organizations," said Jerry Guo, Founder, President and CEO of Casa Systems. "His track record in growing revenue and market share as well as his deep knowledge of customer requirements will be invaluable to Casa Systems as we continue to leverage our growth in the traditional Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) business and get ready for the anticipated growth in the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) segment of the business. Abraham brings focus, structure, and urgency to the sales organization as we grow the customer base by establishing longstanding and trustworthy customer relationships."
Pucheril brings more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry across both market leading start-up companies and large, publicly traded multinational companies to Casa Systems. He most recently served as Vice President of Sales at Fujitsu Network Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, where he was responsible for sales, solutions, and business development. Prior to Fujitsu, Pucheril was Area Vice President of Sales for Alcatel, where he spearheaded some of the country's largest Fiber to the Home deployments. He began his professional career with Bell Canada.
"I am very pleased to be joining Casa Systems at a critical phase in the company's growth," said Pucheril. "Casa has demonstrated the ability to capture market share in a very competitive environment, as evidenced by its significant increase in market share in CALA as reported in the latest Infonetics 'Q2 CMTS and Edge QAM Hardware and Subscribers Market Share' report. I am looking forward to continuing that growth globally, leveraging our leading positions in DOCSIS channel densities and CCAP capabilities."
Casa Systems' innovative approach enables cable operators to cost effectively and seamlessly migrate Casa's flagship C10G to CCAP functionality, offering highly scalable broadband services such as IPTV, MPEG video, interactive gaming, as well as traditional broadband access and VoIP services. As the industry's only vendor with full DOCSIS 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5 qualification, Casa Systems products deliver reliability, scalability, performance, and operational simplicity.
