South Florida entrepreneurs will share their startup stories and help to mentor participants during the Startup Florida Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Miami Science Museum, 3280 S. Miami Ave.

Hosted by The Launch Pad, the University of Miami's entrepreneurship center, the event will include talks by CEOs John Duffy of 3Cinteractive, Zalmi Duchman of The Fresh Diet, Davide Di Cillo of SyncPad, Boo Zamek of Just Ask Boo and Abe Ng of Sushi Maki. There will also be small group mentoring sessions, in which attendees can meet with the guest speakers as well as counselors from the Launch Pad, the Small Business Administration and SCORE Miami-Dade, a nonprofit that assists entrepreneurs.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information or to register in advance, go to www.startupfl.org

Startup Florida is a statewide initiative focused on connecting entrepreneurs with a statewide network of resources, mentors and capital sources in order to nurture and grow an entrepreneurial ecosystem. It's an outgrowth of Startup America, a national program launched last January.
