President Barack Obama took advantage of another sunny day in Windward Oahu to
play golf last Friday, his fourth golf outing in a week as he nears the end of his
10-day Hawaii vacation.
Obama played the Kaneohe Klipper course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii for
the third time, again with Hawaii friends Mike Ramos, Greg Orme and Bobby
Titcomb. He played at the Koolau Golf Club on Wednesday.
Obama's holiday did not go unnoticed Friday by Republican presidential
hopeful Mitt Romney, who was campaigning in Iowa and again criticized the
president for golfing while on vacation, The Associated Press reported.
"He's in Hawaii right now. We're in the cold, in the rain, in the wind
because we care about America," Romney said, speaking to several hundred
supporters in the parking lot of a grocery store in West Des Moines. "He just
finished his 90th round of golf. We have 25 million Americans who are out of
work, stopped looking for work or are underemployed. Home values have come
down. The median income in America in the last four years has dropped by 10
percent."
Earlier Friday the president maintained his daily routine by working out
at the gym at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, a short drive from his Kailua vacation
compound.
Obama and his family are scheduled to return to Washington on Monday.
