James Farentino, Actor, Died at Age 73

Actor James Farentino died yesterday at age 73.

Farentino died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after battling a the illness.

He appeared in nearly 100 television, film and stage roles, including "Dead & Buried" (1981), "The Final Countdown" (1980), "Bulletproof" (1996) and "Her Alibi" (1989).

Farentino acted in teh stage production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" at the Arlington Park Theatre in Chicago with Jack Wallace, directed by Harvey Medlinsky, according to the film data base IMDB.com.

Farentino was married and divorced three times. He is survived by his fourth wife, Stella, whom he married in 1994, and by two sons, David and Saverio.

One particular relationship with a certain famous crooner's daughter got him in hot water.

In 1994 Farentino pleaded no contest to stalking singer Frank Sinatra's youngest daughter, Tina, after being charged with 24 misdemeanor counts of stalking, making harassing phone calls and violating a restraining order to stay away from her, according to the Sun Herald.com.

Farentino was placed on 36 months' probation and ordered to undergo psychiatric and alcohol counseling.
