Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the congresswoman who was injured in an Arizona mass shooting last year, announced on Sunday that she would be stepping down from her seat to focus on her recovery. Giffords was one of 13 people injured in the shooting attack, which also killed six people.
Gabrielle Giffords maintains that the move is "what is best for Arizona," but intends to continue her public service once her recovery is complete.
Giffords' husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, will not be among those seeking to replace his wife's seat, reports CBS News.
