Rapper and actor LL Cool J is to host the Grammy Awards ceremony on Feb. 12, the first time in seven years that America's top music awards show will feature a master of ceremonies.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of music's biggest night," said the
two-time Grammy award winning host, who has also earned acting kudos
for his role on the crime thriller NCIS: Los Angeles.
Kanye West is the leading nominee for the Grammys, but may be
forced to share the glory with British soul singer Adele, who had the
best selling album and single of the year and has six nominations to
her name. Other multiple nominees include Bruno Mars, Nicky Minaj and
the Foo Fighters.
A recent throat operation means that Adele is not on the official
list of performers, though reports say she could make a surprise
performance. Artists who have confirmed their performances include
Mars, Minaj, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift.
