Lili Estefan, host of El Gordo y La Flaca, again, signed on to join the American Lung Association's Faces of Influenza campaign targeted toward Hispanic Americans.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), up to 9.5 million Hispanic Americans will suffer from influenza in an average year, yet vaccinaion rates among the Latino community remain seriously low.
In her role in the campaign, Estefan will enourage Hispanic families to protect themselves and their loved ones against the disease by getting vaccinated.
Hispanic Americans are considered at high risk of developing complications from influenza due to increased incidences of certain chronic medical conditions like asthma and diabetes, according to the CDC.
