Dialogo, a San Diego public relations firm, has won a United Latino Business Coalition Excellence in Business Award. Lucia Tovar-Matthews, the firm's CEO, will accept the 2011 ULBC Service Provider of the Year award for her leadership in the Hispanic community, according to a press release. The award will be presented Oct. 1 at the ULBC Awards Dinner in Phoenix.

"We are honored to receive this award as it is a testament to our focus on converting awareness into tangible results that emanate throughout our organization," Tovar-Matthews said.

ULBC's program services include scholarship distributions, donations of school supplies, monthly mixers and business workshops. The coalition was established in 2001.

Patti Tellez, ULBC Nominations Committee chairwoman, said: "Lucia's accomplishments stood out among her peers and were recognized by the nomination committee as examples of 'excellence' in our business community."

Dialogo creates marketing dialogue between brands and Hispanic audiences, according to the release. It has offices in San Diego and Mexico City.
