The Mexican Museum in San Francisco celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of exhibits.
The current exhibit, "Images: Independence and Revolution," features pictures related to the bicentennial of Mexico's independence, celebrated on Sept. 16. It also marks the centennial of the Mexican Revolution. The exhibit runs through April 1, 2012.
Among the works on display are pieces by "Los Tres Grandes": Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siquerios.
A new exhibit, The Tequila Don Julio Collection, featuring three Bay Area artists -- Viva Paredes, Julio Cesar Morales and Caleb Duarte -- opens Sept. 23.
The museum also has a selection of exhibitions, including Chicano Art from the Permanent Collection, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Exposicion Jose Luis Cuevas, MasCaras: Mask of Mexico, and Pasión por Frida.
