Rupert Grint, aka Ron Weasley, turns 23 today. Grint rose to fame after starring in the "Harry Potter" film series. Grint was cast as Ron at the age of 11, with only plays at school and his local theater group in his repertoire. From 2001 through 2011, he starred in eight Harry Potter movies alongside actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
The Harry Potter films were adapted from the best-selling novels of the same name by author J.K. Rowling, who insisted that her characters be played by British actors.
Also celebrating their birthdays today are actor Chad Michael Murray from "One Tree Hill," who turns 30; comedian Dave Chappelle, who turns 38; and Paulo Coelho, Brazilian novelist, who turns 64. Famous New Kids on the Block fan Kelly Tsutsumi also celebrates a birthday today.
