Twice, the mitts were sent flying off Freddie Roach's hands by pound-for-pound Manny Pacquiao as he unloaded punches designed to put any opponent down and out.

"Maybe I'm thin, but my punches are thick," Pacquiao said in Filipino on Friday as he skipped ropes after a torrid two-hour workout at the Wild Card Gym here.

Though he didn't mention his weight, Roach earlier told Manila-based sportswriters that Pacquiao tipped the scales at 147 pounds on Thursday, right on the dot for his defense of the World Boxing Association welterweight crown on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"It's OK, I'm just propped up," explaining why he had to pour it on while working on the mitts with Roach when it was supposed to be a light training day.

Hardly taking a break, Pacquiao pummeled Roach with two, three, four and even more combinations aimed at breaking down Mosley's 39-year-old body into submission.

"I just want to make sure," said Pacquiao, admitting that he's bracing for Mosley who knocked Antonio Margarito out in 2009, not the Mosley that bowed to Floyd Mayweather Jr. by unanimous decision and settled for a draw with Sergio Mora in his last two fights.

Surprisingly, Pacquiao said he'd watched only the tape of the Mosley-Margarito bout and did not even finish it.

"Well, he (Mosley) throws a lot of punches," observed Pacquiao. "But I'm 100 percent ready."

Though Pacquiao didn't show a hint of exhaustion Thursday, he later admitted he's tired while he was being given a rubdown by assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez inside the cramped, sweaty dressing room of Wild Card.

After a few minutes, however, Pacquiao was back in his element while dressing up for a commercial shoot with Nike.

After acknowledging the huge throng that had gathered at the Wild Card premises, Pacquiao proceeded to his clothing store-cum-souvenir shop to have a late lunch of soup, white rice and beef tapa (cured beef) from the nearby Nat's Thai restaurant.
