Actor Gary Busey, who was raised in Tulsa and recently featured in NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice 4" series, has been added to the celebrity list for the 20th annual Tulsa Charity Fight Night.
The event is set for Thursday at the downtown Hyatt Regency.
Also booked for the show is rapper and VH1 television personality Flavor Flav, along with former heavyweight boxing champions Buster Douglas and Michael Moorer and former University of Oklahoma football players Marcus Dupree and Jamelle Holieway.
The 66-year-old Busey was a 1962 graduate of Hale High School. For his leading role in "The Buddy Holly Story," Busey was nominated for an Academy Award.
In addition to mingling with the various celebrities, the Fight Night patrons will watch six professional boxing matches.
Fight Night proceeds benefit Tulsa's Street School, which, according to a press release, "provides education and counseling services to students who are committed not only to their education, but also to resolving substance-abuse problems, learning and practicing life skills, (and) dealing with behavioral issues or filling a void of educational and emotional support traditionally provided by family."
The Tulsa Charity Fight Night contribution specifically will be applied to the construction of a new kitchen and nutrition education classroom at Street School. Tulsa Charity Fight Night XX Thursday, 7 p.m., Hyatt Regency, 100 E. Second St.
