EchoStar Europe (www.echostar-europe.com) (NASDAQ: SATS), a leading developer of added-value, connected-device solutions to the digital television industry, announced today that it has supplied a new HD, satellite STB to Telefonica (www.telefonica.com) in Chile. The new product will enable consumers to access an array of digital television services including HD channels.

The cost effective, twin-tuner HDS-600 ships with software that enables the consumer to upgrade to digital video recording (DVR) using an external USB hard disk drive - features include one touch recording, live pause and watching one channel whilst recording another. The digital services are accessed through a state-of-the-art HD graphical user interface (GUI).

The new field-upgradable STB will enable Telefonica to grow its Movistar service portfolio in Chile following the launch of its satellite pay TV platform in 2006.
