Benicio del Toro, the actor hailing from Puerto Rico, has been granted citizenship by the government of Spain.
Del Toro, an accomplished actor who won an Oscar for his role in "Traffic," was granted citizenship alongside Puerto Rican countryman, singer Ricky Martin.
A spokesman for Spain said Friday that the citizen was granted to Del Toro and Martin in recognition of "their artistic talents."
