Jennifer Lopez, the 42-year old "American Idol" host, defended her curvy shape in an interview with Jane Fonda that appears in the December issue of Glamour magazine.
Jennifer Lopez, who was named one of Glamour's Women of the Year, also reveals that she felt compelled to fire a manager after he criticized her figure and said she should lose a few pounds.
"I was just so infuriated that somebody said you couldn't have a little extra meat on you," Lopez said, according to US magazine, "because I was by no means fat. That was so mean and closed-minded."
"I was like: 'No, this is who I am and this is the type of woman that I grew up with and it was beautiful and there's no reason to be anybody but myself,'" the Daily Mail online quoted Lopez as telling Fonda.
However, Lopez also told Fonda she has not decided whether she will have plastic surgery.
"I mean, I'd like to think I'll feel great about myself and age gracefully," she told Fonda, according to the Daily Mail online, "but then I think: 'Well, what if I do want a little bit of something?' I'm open to being open."
