Prince Harry, British royal and avid polo player, may face animal cruelty charges in connection with his actions during a recent polo match in July.
The 'Daily Mail' reports that the prince inflicted a wound on the horse he was riding through excessive use of his spurs during the match.
The rules established by the Hurlington Polo Association expressly forbid abuse of horse by excessive use of spurs, with violators subject to a fine of up to $100,000.
A spokesman for the royal family insists that the prince stopped riding the horse as soon as he noticed the wound, and that the horse was immediately treated for its injury.
