Maria Sharapova Cruises to U.S. Open Round 3

Maria Sharapova dispatched the Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova in straight sets Thursday to advance to round 3 of the U.S. Open Tennis finals. The match tally was 6-1, 6-2.

Sharapova cruised to the win without facing a single break point, and delivering 16 winners, along with 3 service aces.

Sharapova is seeded 14th, and last won the open in 2006.
