Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., aired dirty laundry Tuesday regarding the presidential campain of her father and the role of Sarah Palin, his running mate.

In an interview on Good Morning America, McCain said Palin brought, "drama, stress, complications, panic and lots of uncertainty" to the failed Republican ticket during the 2008 campaign.

She stopped short, however, of blaming the loss of the campaign on Palin, crediting the former Alaska governor with injecting the campaign with "momentum and enthusiasm."

McCain said she is speaking out now because she has conflicting feelings about Palin and her contributions to her father's campaign and to the Republican party.

McCain writes about the campaign in detail in her new book, "Dirty Sexy Politics," which is being billed as an unabashed, unfiltered look at the 2008 campaign and the state of U.S. politics.

You know? As far as Republicans go, I've watched Meghan McCain on The View many times, including as a co-host. She's a straight shooter, intelligent, innovative, and tries hard to evaluate both sides on an issue before coming to any conclusions. Further, she has genuine integrity. This does not mean I always agree with her but it means that I listen to her opinion and respect her considerations. She is a polished and well-educated young woman and, when she makes a statement about Palin, I trust that she has considered all points of logic and consideration and has come to a well thought-through conclusion. If she were still milling it over in her mind she would have either stated that or, more likely, kept quiet until she had made up her mind on the subject. I respect her words, opinion.
