Former professional wrester Luna Vachon, a WWE mainstay for more than 15 years, was found dead in her mother's home Friday morning.
Vachon, whose real first name was Gertrude, was a prominent figure in WWE from 1985 until 2000, performing in the ring under the name, Luna Vachon.
She was living with her mother in Florida after a fire destroyed her own home. No details are available regarding the cause of death.
"World Wrestling Entertainment has been made aware of the passing of Gertrude (Luna) Vachon. WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Vachon family," said a WWE spokesperson, in a prepared statement.
Vachon was 48.
