Ed, illegals DO receive benefits in CA thru their children born here. The more kids, more money. You are correct about the judge, I called it weeks ago that the fix was in the the Obama admin.
SO, "undesirables du jour"? This "jour" has been going on for decades and nothing has been done about it.
Falcon, you're right but it was a Democratic admin. that pushed and signed NAFTA into law along with a "bought off" Mexican government.
SO2, Laws were broken, plain and simple or does the Constitution NOT apply to a certain group of people? In AZ, as here in CA, if you do not have a drivers license, chances are very good that you are not legal, unless you've had your license revoked or suspended.

I have been to 45 countries and I have always needed ID or VISA to prove why I am in that country. If I was not doing what was posted on that VISA,ie. tuoring, student or whatever, I would be arrested. The American Embasy would have no control. The borders were tightly controled and we had no rights. Why are we giving away everything we worked so hard for. Go to Mexico with a tourist visa and try to work, then ask me to send you Marlboro cigaretts to your prison cel. You will get nothing, the gaurds love our smokes. See you in two years.

Eduardo, fails to understand that the issue is not about "illegal" immigration but how does a society determine who is a citizen or who is lawfully present from those who are not? The manner and method of cleansing our society must comport with the Constitution. SB 1070 seeks to compel without mandating that everyone carry identification with them at all times and seeks to impose the obligation upon an officer to detain, once "reasonable suspicion" is determined. A passenger in a speeding vehicle who has no ID, particularly an obviously "brown" person without ID could in reality be detained for indeterminate amount of time until verification with feds is completed.

1CHICHIMEC1, it looks like you don't know N.A.F.T.A well enough to mix it with the SB1070, it has nothing to do with it. But since you mentioned it. NAFTA (implemented in 1994) was pushed onto Mexico to expand US markets. Just imagine a couple of Adults (CA-US) making a "comercial" agreement with a 5-year old. As soon as NAFTA started in Mexico, the great majority of Mexican mom-pop businesses fell to the big US and CA corporations. My family had owned a small manufacturing shop for 35 years, when imports from US-CA invaded Mexican markets and killed these shops by the thousands. Guess what happend, my familiy's ex-employees all went north and crossed the border. They have been working illegaly in AZ, CA, TX. See, this is what happens when big guys squeeze smaller ones too much.

The Hispanic business community needs to support the protest effort against this poorly crafted law. The current groups leading the charge are well intentioned but unsophisticated in public relations. After all the rhetoric is stripped away, this legislation is an effort to cleanse/rid our society of the undesireables du jour inconsistent with Constitutional rights and protections.

I don't know about all the bruhaha about a law that protects American citizens. As it is, in CA illegal aliens are prohibited from receiving services. If you read the application of the REA 3030 retrieved from: http://www.orea.ca.gov/forms/REA_3030.pdf the state does not provide licenses or services to "illegal" immigrants. Citizens must provide "proof" of citizenship, and "legal" aliens "must" submit proof of eligibility by an official document (INS forms I-551, I-94, I-688-B, I-766, I-797, I-360). These documents are required under CA Code & U.S. Code, and applies to all of the states.Laws should not be legislated from the bench, and this judge over stepped her bounds in overturning the majority vote of the citizens of the State of Arizona.

If N.A.F.T.A.;S.P.P.;N.A.U.; TRANS.TEXAS CORRIDOR,& the open borders are to ever take effect, Then of course that Law 'MUST' be repealed! I mean who runs this country the conglomerates, cartels or the "Flat Broke American Citizens"?
