Gabourey Sidibe, the breakout star of the Academy-Award winning film "Precious," plans to host NBC's Saturday Night Live.
Gabourey Sidibe will host the show on April 17. Pop singer Ke$sha is also set to perform.
Sidibe was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, an honor won by Sandra Bullock.
The actress also has publicly dueled with shock jock Howard Stern, who criticize the plus-sized actress over her weight. Many stars have come together in support of Sidibe.
Saturday Night Live has received an unusual amount of attention for its guest-host lineup this year. Under pressure from fans, the show agreed to book iconic actress Betty White to host the show in May.
