Brangelina, otherwise known as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are suing British tabloid News of the World after the publication in January said the star couple was headed for separation.
According to published reports the couple's lawyer sent a statement to the tabloid which said, "The News of the World has failed to meet our clients' reasonable demands for a retraction of and apology for these false and intrusive allegations, which have now been widely republished by mainstream news outlets."
Brangelina is one of Hollywood's most lauded celebrity couples, largely because of their charitable contributions. Jolie and Pitt have three biological children and three adopted children. The two have used their celebrity to become one of Hollywood's most famous and admired pairs.
Since the story about a rumored separation broke, tabloid and mainstream news outlets have picked up the story. Jolie, the daughter of actor Jon Voight, is an Academy Award-winning actress.
