A day after the Los Angeles coroner's office concluded that 32-year-old Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia -- with multiple drug intoxication and "iron deficiency anemia" playing a role -- her husband today said he was shocked.
Simon Monjack said he expected the cause of his wife's death to be attributed to complications from her longstanding heart condition. Murphy had been diagnosed with a heart murmur as a teen.
Monjack seemed almost skeptical of the coroner's report, telling CNN that Murphy didn't seem very ill when she died.
"She wasn't coughing up," he said. "I've had pneumonia and coughed up handfuls of spittle. So yeah, everything surprised us, everything."

Its sad and I know the families pain, having lost a brother who was 2 weeks shy of his 41st birthday and a girlfriend who had just turned 38. So many people die way before their time it seems. We are so selfish not wanting to give up our loved ones, but sometimes we have no choice. Faith in God will get us through, and as its written we should cry at a birth and rejoice after a death for now they are healed provided they are saved.
