Sonic the Hedgehog Returns This Summer

Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario's video game rival, is rolling back into the mainstream. Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, will return this summer as a game for the popular Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

One of the most popular and recognizable video game characters ever, Sonic whirled through levels at ultra-fast speeds or even rolled into a little ball to demolish enemies in the video game.

Can Sonic catch on with a new generation of game players? Chances are good. Sonic was one of video games' first crossover stars, appearing in comic books, movies and cartoons.
