Where's the Love?

Capping a tough couple of months for Jennifer Lopez, Sony Music's Epic Records has confirmed that it is parting ways with the pop icon known as JLo.

The announcement comes just weeks before the scheduled April release of her seventh studio album, aptly titled "Love?", DeadlineHollywood.com reports.

The official version of the news is that Jennifer Lopez's contract expired with the recent release of two singles and will not be renewed.

Others insist that the label dropped her.

Either way, Lopez, 40, has had a tough time of it in the music industry of late.

The album's official single, "Louboutins," fell flat after its release in November, reaching No. 31 on the Hot Dance Club songs, though it performed a little better on the Power Pick of the week chart, rising to No. 13, DH reports.

That same month, Jennifer Lopez performed the song at the American Music Awards, and took a spill on stage. It was a minor mishap, but widely noted in the unforgiving world of entertainment media.

But don't count JLo out. To quote one of her own songs, "I'm Gonna Be Alright."

For one thing, another song from the new album took off. In October, the single "Fresh Out of the Oven" was leaked to the Internet and hit the top of the Hot U.S. Dance Club Songs chart.

What's more, she'll be appearing on Saturday Night Live this weekend as the host and musical performer -- hardly the distinction of a dimming star.

As for her recording career, JLo appears to be moving on, and has already entered into talks with a new label, Island Def Jam.

Also, her acting career is alive and well. The romantic comedy "Back Up Plan" starring JLo and Alex O'Loughlin opens April 23.
