Adam Lambert May Perform on Oprah, as FCC Complaints Surface

Adam Lambert on Oprah Winfrey.

Winfrey is apparently poised to have Lambert, hot off an incredible year of media attention after he placed second on American Idol, on her show.

Lambert rose to fame on Fox's hit show and then became a source for controversyafter his November American Music Awards live performance, where he engaged in a same-sex kiss, among other edgy on-stage acts.

His performance was so shocking that ABC yanked him from appearing on its iconic Dick Clark's New Year's Eve show. The censorship prompted comparisons to how Elvis Presley was handled after his hip-swiveling performance in the 1950s on the Ed Sullivan Show.

In fact, a new web site unveiled this week features the complaints about Lambert that were sent to the FCC after his performance.

Lambert, widely popular among his entertainment peers and media critics, seems to have shrugged off the criticism, but it's unclear whether the singer can overcome the mainstream controversy and return the focus to his music and remarkable voice.

Adam fans would read your article without the "as FCC Complaints Surface" attached to your headline. Nobody will EVER let this minor infraction drop off of Adam's attempt to move on if the media doesn't stop incorporating the AMAs performance into EVERY single article written about him. Give him a break & move on. It was one performance, one misjudgement,& one fabulous singer whose intention was not to insult but to entertain. Other performers on the same show at an earlier hour also made questionable moves in their performances, but they got off w/o issue. Lambert has one of the most technically skilled voices & gives us the most exciting performances of anyone in the business for the past 3 decades. Give us the Oprah news, forget the old crap,& we will respect you in the morning.

I started reading through some of the complaints and was so disgusted I couldn't go further. The complaints themselves and the vulgarity of the wording are ten times more disturbing than anything Lambert did on that stage. I am shocked that people think like that and talk like that. The complaints are laiden with hyprocisy, poor grammer & spelling and exposes a very deep homophobia. The minds of a lot of people in the US are truly disturbing.
