Andre Dawson in the Hall of Fame; Roberto Alomar Fails to Make Cut

Andre Dawson, legendary outfielder for the Montreal Expos and the Chicago Cubs, was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame today. Legendary second baseman Roberto Alomar and pitcher Burt Blyleven fell just shy of the 75 percent necessary to win induction. Members of the Baseball Writers Association induct the players.

Alomar, who in 2009 was hit with lawsuit from an ex-girlfriend who claimed that he had unprotected sex with her even though he was HIV positive - a suit that was eventually thrown out - played in 12 All-Star games and is widely considered the best second baseman in history.

Blyleven, known for a wicked curveball, enjoyed success with several teams, but mostly with the Minnesota Twins.
